Have you been specifying Allsteel or Gunlocke products in Worksheet and noticed a yellow parent child icon next to some products and wondered what this could indicate?
Example: Below are some tables from Allsteel that have this icon.
This icon indicates that the item is an assembly made up of component parts. If the Icon is yellow, this indicates the item is the parent. For example, the tables above may consist of top and base that could be shipped separately and then be assembled on site. It's possible an order acknowledgement may come back with the individual components instead of the completed item's part number.
Worksheet contains an assembly conversion wizard for Allsteel and Gunlocke products allows you to break down an assembly item into its child component parts. This could be useful for verifying order acknowledgements.
From the Tools tab in Worksheet select Manufacturer Specific, and then Assembly Conversion Wizards.
Then select the appropriate manufacturer in the available converters dialog window and then click Open.
Work thru the conversion wizard making the desired choices and click Next to proceed with the conversion. You have the option of converting all eligible items in the current worksheet or converting only selected items. There is also an option of creating a backup copy of the current worksheet, and then all items in this backup copy will be converted.
Once the conversion is done, any parent assemblies in the Worksheet should then be broken down in their respective component parts. The icon will now be green next to those items, indicating it is a component, or child of an assembly. The Alias 3 column will also display what item this is a component of.
