How to show filename extensions in Windows

In order to avoid confusion regarding your saved files, you may want to configure Windows to show the actual filename extension.
 

Windows 10

1. Open Windows File Explorer
   
   
2. Click the View Tab
   
   
3. Put a check mark next to File name extensions

Windows 11

1. In Windows File Explorer select View.
   
   
2. In the View drop down select Show and select File name extensions (When enabled a check mark will appear next to it)
