Issue
When opening drawings in AutoCAD, the following Proxy Information window appears.
Cause
The window is informational and does not necessarily mean anything is wrong. It is simply alerting you that the drawing you have opened contains custom objects created by an unavailable ARX application. For Cap users, this most commonly occurs when you have opened your drawing containing Cap objects before you have fully engaged or loaded the Cap application. If you scroll down the information window, it will confirm which applications created the proxy objects detected in the drawing. You can simply click OK in this message. See below if you would like to prevent the window from appearing.
Solution
As mentioned above, if you open a drawing containing Cap objects before Cap is fully loaded, this window will appear since AutoCAD's default setting is enabled to show the Proxy Information dialog window. To avoid the window from appearing, you could ensure Cap is loaded before opening the drawing. This can be done by setting Cap to Load on AutoCAD Startup via the preferences. You may also disable the AutoCAD setting to prevent the window from appearing by following the steps below:
- Type Options on the command line and press Enter.
- Select the Open and Save tab.
- Remove the check mark next to Show Proxy Information dialog box.
- Click Apply and then OK.
- The window will no longer appear.
