Issue
You attempt to send your Cap drawing to Visual Impression and receive the following error message:
Solution
This error can occur if your Local Projects folder path is set to an invalid or inaccessible location. Many times this might be set to a network location that you no longer have access or permission to.
- Click OK on the error message and then close Visual Impression and return to Cap / AutoCAD.
- Type CAPXPREFERENCES on the command line of AutoCAD and press the Enter key, Or select Preferences... from your CAP Designer pull down menu.
- On the Cap Designer Preferences window, click the Folders + Files button along the left side.
- Examine the location you have set for your Local Projects. This must be a valid and accessible location.
- If you need to change the location, click the ... button to browse and set your Local Projects path to a valid location.
- Once set, click the OK button at the bottom of the preferences window.
- Press Ok to continue past any additional messages that may appear.
- Try sending your drawing to Visual Impression again. If the problem was the invalid location it should then visualize correctly.
IMPORTANT: The below image shows the Cap Designer Preferences window. Many functions of the software depend on having the local projects path set to a valid location.
