Issue
The Cap Insert Symbol Dialog window does not appear when the command is activated.
Cause
This is often the result of using Cap with multiple monitors. If one of the monitors is disconnected, the historical coordinates of the dialog window are set to an area of the desktop that is no longer visible or available. Below are 2 solutions to fix this issue:
Solution 1
Use the Windows "Move Feature" to bring the dialog back.
1. Click the Insert Symbol button on the toolbar to activate the command.
2. Press ALT and spacebar at the same time on the keyboard and then release.
3. Press M on the keyboard.
4. Press the right arrow key on your keyboard twice.
5. Now move the mouse around and the dialog window should be attached to the cursor.
6. Left click to release the dialog window.
Solution 2
The position of the dialog window can be reset by editing the windows registry. Warning: Changes made to the Windows registry can damage your Windows program and occur immediately with no automatic backup. This solution is only recommend for advanced Windows users.
1. Close AutoCAD completely.
2. Open the Windows registry.
3. Delete the "Explorer" folder from the following location: HKEY_Current_User\Software\20-20 Technologies\CAPStudio 2.0\CAPDesigner\Preferences\Explorer
The explorer folder contains the settings for the position of the dialog window. Once the folder is deleted reopen AutoCAD and activate the Insert Symbol command. The Insert Symbol Dialog position should now be reset and visible.
