When opening certain Giza drawings the following error appears:
Unknown System error
This is a Windows System error.
The most common cause of the above error is an incorrectly installed catalog. If something happened during your last catalog update that a particular catalog did not install all the required files, it could cause Giza to crash or display this error when opening drawings that contain parts from that manufacturer.
Identifying and then correcting the catalog installation issue will fix the above error allowing the drawing to open once again.
Since a Giza drawing could possibly contain parts from several different manufacturer's product lines, this can be a bit tricky to identify. One process to help narrow it down, is to try to open a few other Giza drawings you have worked in recently to see if any others give the same error. If so, try to think of what manufactures the two drawings could share in common.
Then open Giza to a new blank drawing. Test some of the suspected manufacturers by placing any random part from that catalog into the new drawing. If the part places ok, without any issue, then that catalog is ok. If you come across a catalog that gives the same error, or causes Giza to close down, then that is the problem catalog that will need to be repaired.
Once the catalog is identified, it can be removed and reinstalled by following the steps in this article: How to Remove and Reinstall a Single Manufacturer Using a DSAZIP Web Download
