Worksheet can use reports created by the full version of Crystal Reports. These files will have a .RPT file extension and must be placed in a specific Crystal Reports folder set for your computer. This will typically be your Documents\CAP\CrystalReports folder. If a .RPT file is placed in the Crystal Reports folder, the report will be available by using the apply report design button and then listed under the Crystal Reports Templates section.
Confirming or Changing the Crystal Reports Folder Location
You can check the registry to determine what folder Worksheet expects the .RPT files to be placed in or even change the location. This requires working with the Windows Registry and if you are not familiar with this please seek assistance from your company help desk support or contact the support department.
- Open the Windows Registry.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\20-20 Technologies\CAPStudio 2.0
- Look at the CrystalReportsFolder value to see the currently designated folder for your .RPT files.
- Make sure your .RPT files are placed in the folder specified to be available for Worksheet.
Note: You can change the value of the CrystalReportsFolder to another directory by modifying the above registry value. For example, if you wanted to share the same .RPT files with all users at your company. You could place the .RPT files on a shared network drive, for example X:\Crystal Reports. Then modify the registry of all the users to point to the X:\Crystal Reports folder. All users would then see and be using the same Crystal Reports.
