Block Info Edit Tool
Use the Block Info Edit tool to reassign item information based on your preferences and in blocks, individually, or throughout an entire design. You can change information such as the Catalog (CAT) code or Manufacturer (MFG) code.
Important Note
Changing Block Info in Cap Complete may prevent certain features from working correctly. For example, if you try to apply a Panel Builder configuration to a panel block that has a custom MFG code it will not apply correctly because it will be looking for the manufacturer’s standard MFG code.
If you are looking to assign area tags to specific set of parts, then it is recommended that you use the Assign tool which can make those changes without editing the CAD blocks. Assign works in both Cap Complete and Worksheet so it may be easier to use in most scenarios.
How to Use Block Info Edit
1. From the Office ribbon, in the Block Info section select Block Info Edit.
2. Set the Data Field to the appropriate field you would like to change.
3. In the Find field enter the information that you will be replacing.
4. In the Replace with field enter the information you would like to replace it with.
5. Use the Select Objects button choose which blocks you would like to edit. Or use All Objects to select your entire drawing.
