The Hedberg Specifier integration allows you to import and export Steelcase product data using a dedicated Hedberg Specifier XML format. This supports re‑specifying products using the Hedberg Specifier while keeping workflows aligned with industry standard.
Enable the Hedberg Specifier XML format
- Go to File > Import or Export.
- Select the option Select Formats.
- Enable Hedberg Specifier XML.
- Click OK to close the dialog.
The Hedberg Specifier XML format will now remain available each time you import or export.
Import products using the Hedberg Specifier
Use this process when you want to bring an external specification into your project and continue working on it using the Hedberg Specifier.
- Open your project.
- Go to File > Import.
- Select Hedberg Specifier XML as the file type.
- Browse to and select an XML file that:
- Complies with the OFDA standard
- Uses the OCD format supported by the Hedberg Specifier
- Select Import in the Import Center.
The imported data opens in the Hedberg Specifier, allowing you to continue specifying products.
Export products using the Hedberg Specifier
Use this process when you want to export Steelcase product data for use in the Hedberg Specifier, or to re‑import it later.
- Open the project containing your specified products.
- Go to File > Export.
- Choose Hedberg Specifier XML as the export format.
- Select Export in the Export Center.
The system creates a Hedberg‑compatible XML file that can be re‑imported to continue specification.
