The Sorting command sorts data within the report view. It does not re-sort the worksheet.
Report Designer
- Navigate to the Report toolbar, under the section Report select Manage Report Designs select the report you want to edit and click Edit.
- In the Report Designer window, click
on the Report toolbar.
- In the Sorting dialog, check the column names you want to sort by.
Data will be sorted according to the order the checked names appear on the list.
For example, according to the image above, data will be sorted first by Alias 1 then by Category. - Use any of the arrow buttons to change the sort order: Top, Move up, Move down and Bottom.
- Check Ascending to sort by ascending order (0..9, A..Z) or Descending to sort by descending order (9..0, Z..A).
- Click OK.
Advanced report designer
- Navigate to the Report toolbar, under the section Advanced Report select Manage Report Designs select the report you want to edit and click Edit.
- Double click the Data Band you want to sort.
- In the Data window select Sort.
- Click Add Sort and use the Sort by drop down options to select the sort data to be sorted by.
- Select either Ascending or Descending in the next row.
- Click OK and the Data window will close.
