Compare provides preset criteria to make it easier for users to select commonly used criteria. Preset criteria options include:

Mfg + Part Number
Includes manufacturer + part number only. Select this option when a specific part number is required, but a specific finish or option is not required. -
Mfg + Part Number + Option Number
Includes manufacturer + part number + option number only. Select this option when a specific part number is required AND a specific finish or option is required. -
Mfg + Cat + Part Number
Includes manufacturer + catalog + part number only. Select this option when a specific part number from a specific catalog is required, but a specific finish or option is not required. -
Mfg + Cat + Part Number + Option Number
Includes manufacturer + catalog + part number + option number only. Select this option when a specific part number from a specific catalog is required AND a specific finish or option is required.
Users can also select their own criteria to get a finer comparison. Remember that the finer the comparison criteria, the more specific the product to be used. Use custom criteria only when the project requires it to get the most use out of the existing products.
To select custom criteria, select Custom Criteria… from the pulldown. The Create Custom Criteria button will activate allowing the user to press it to select specific criteria.
