The Work Angle tool in Giza makes it easy to draw walls and place furniture at specific angles.
The tool can be activated by clicking the protractor icon in the toolbar just to the right of the XY and Ruler settings. Tip: Both XY and Ruler should be checked when using the Work Angle tool.
If the desired angle is known, simply enter it into the box and press OK.
The icon in the toolbar will be highlighted in yellow which indicates the Work Angle is now active. Clicking the icon again will toggle the Work Angle off.
In this example, we entered 45 degrees into the the Set Work Angle dialog and with the Work Angle command active, our wall segment is created at a 45-degree angle. Furniture will also be placed at the angle specified.
Calculating an Unknown Angle
It may sometimes be required to place furniture to align with existing items or architecture for which the angle is unknown. The Work Angle tool takes the guess work out of the process and has two ways to find the proper angle.
In this example, we have imported a DWG floor plan and we need to space plan the furniture in the private offices which are at an unknown angle.
If the angle is unknown, click the Select Element icon You then take your cursor and left click on an existing item in the drawing. In this example, we would left click on the wall line. The angle is calculated and automatically entered into the work angle field. Press OK to begin using that angle.
We can see that furniture placed is now parallel to the existing wall segments.
Alternatively, you could use the 2-point angle icon . This allows you to create a line by choosing two points in the drawing. This would allow you to trace along an existing wall or item edge and it will then calculate and set the angle.
