This article describes the steps to rescale a drawing in Giza. One usage of this feature is to correct an imported DWG file that was drawn using an incorrect scale.
- Check your layers and set all Layers to On.
- Measure a door or an item in the drawing for which you know what the correct size should be.
- Calculate the scale factor. Use the following formula to determine the scale factor:
-
The correct size divided by the measured size on the screen.
-
The correct size divided by the measured size on the screen.
- For Example - You know a door should be 3' wide, but is measuring 36' in the drawing.
- Using the above formula we can calculate our scale factor: 3 / 36 = 0.08333
Note: Make sure the numbers you divide are using the same units of measure
- Select the entire drawing (Click Edit on the menu bar, choose Select, and then All)
- Right click on a selected part of the drawing and choose Utilities and then Scale.
- Enter your calculated scale factor in the X: field. In this example I have entered .08333
- Put a check mark next to Use X-scale for all scales
- Click the Apply button
- The drawing will then be scaled. This can take a few moments depending on the size of the drawing.
- Measure your item in the drawing and ensure it now measures at the correct size.
