The following document will show how to elevate a wall or column off the ground in Giza. Walls and columns cannot be directly elevated. To achieve the desired elevation, you will create a new layer which has a default height set to the height you want the wall or column to be. The wall or column can then be moved to that layer. The wall or column will then elevate to the height specified for the layer.
Creating a new layer with an assigned elevation
- Click the Load Layer dialog button on the toolbar to open the layer manager.
- Click the Add Layer button.
-
Name the layer (ie as “Elevated”) and then remove the check mark next to Make this the working layer.
-
Set the base height of the layer to the height you will want your wall or column elevated to.
- Click OK to close the New Layer Window, and then click OK on the Layer Setup Window.
Moving items to the new layer
You will now select the wall or column in your drawing and move it to the new layer.
-
Right click on the wall or column and choose Move Move (Dialog)
- In the New Layer for Move drop down, Select the name of the layer we created above.
- Click Perform Move.
- The item you had selected will now be moved to that layer and its elevation will be set to the elevation of the layer.
