At times one may wish to show certain items in 2D Plan as a different color. For example, it may be useful to make certain items stand out to indicate new or reconfigured items. This can be accomplished by creating a new layer and assigning that layer a color override. Once the layer is created, items in the drawing can be moved to that layer and will become the color assigned to that layer.
Getting Started
In the drawing below, we will make the planned typical blue in color.
We first need to create a new layer. Open Giza’s Layer Setup window by clicking the Load Layer Dialog box button in the toolbar.
The Layer Setup window will now appear. Click the Add Layer button.
The new layer window will appear. You need to type a name for your layer; in this case I am calling the layer “Blue” to indicate the color I will be using. Next, remove the check mark next to Make this the working layer. Then choose Custom in the color override section. When you make this selection, a color palette will appear. From here, you will get to choose the color you want assigned to this layer. In my example, I am going to choose a blue color. Then press OK.
Now that we have made our new layer, all we need to do is to move the items we want to change color to that layer.
Select the item(s) you wish to move to the new layer. Then right click on any of the selected parts and choose Move, Move (Dialog)
In the Move dialog window, choose your New Layer for Move and click Perform Move.
The items you have selected will move to the new layer and become the color you assigned in the color override of your layer setup.
