Frame Designer
Giza Frame Designer simplifies panel frame configurations. When you create and apply a design to a panel frame, Frame Designer will automatically insert tiles, top caps, stack-on frames, and segment kits. Frame Designer is only available for certain manufacturers.
Creating a Frame Design
- Click the Frame Designer
icon in the tool bar to bring up the Assign Frames dialog box. You may also go to the Tools menu and Select Frame Design...
- Click the Define Frame button in the Assign Frames dialog window to get started creating frame designs.
- Select the correct frame type and height in the upper-right section of the Frame Designer window. It is important you are building the design for the proper panel type you are using in the drawing. This will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- Build your frame design using the drop-down arrows to select the desired tile elements for each side of the frame. It is recommended to build from the bottom up. Optionally, you can assign a color and a tile tag to the right of the tile selection to assist in visualization and optioning the tiles later on.
- Right-click in the Add-On area to add, change, or remove any required stack-on elements.
- Select the desired Top Cap option from the pull-down list.
- Click the Save As icon to save the current design under a new name.
Applying Frame Designs
- Close the Frame Designer window to return to the Assign Frames dialog box.
- Using the Frame Design Drop down-list, select the design you wish to apply to the frame(s) in your drawing.
- Optionally, checking the Automatically Swap Frame box will swap out the frame in the drawing to the frame type used in the design if they differ.
- Use either the Single or Selection button to apply the selected design to the frames in the drawing. Clicking Single will apply the current frame design to only a single frame you choose in the drawing. Clicking Selection will apply the current frame design to any selected frames in the drawing.
- In the Show Tile Symbols Section, set the radio button to All and then click the Show button to show the tiles on all the applicable panel frames in the drawing. You can optionally also use Area to show tiles in a specific area of the drawing. You are prompted to define the area using the mouse. Choosing Selection Set will show tiles in the selection set you currently have defined.
- The Frame Designs should now be visible graphically and also show up in the BOM.
Tip: You can right-click on any item of the Assign Frames window to display a pop-up tool tip for each function.
