Advanced sorting in Worksheet allows you to organise data using multiple columns with independent sort directions. This provides greater control when working with large or complex datasets, such as panel systems.
Sorting behavior is aligned with CET Calculation, ensuring a consistent experience across both tools.
Note: This feature is available from version 2026.1
With advanced sorting, you can:
- Sort by multiple columns in a defined order
- Assign a different sort direction (ascending or descending) to each column
- Retain sorting automatically when importing data from CET via XML
- Save and reuse sorting configurations
Multi-level sorting
- Sorting is applied in the order columns are listed
- The first column acts as the primary sort
- Each additional column acts as a nested sub-sort
Independent sort direction
- Each column has its own ascending or descending setting
- There is no longer a global sort direction
How sort a Worksheet

- Right click in the column header and select Sort > Multiple columns.
- Arrange the columns in the desired order using:

- Right click in the column header and select Sort > Sort settings > Manage sort settings.
- In the Manage Sort Settings window click on New...
- Give the setting a unique name and click OK.

Additional behavior
- Importing data from CET via XML retains the original sort order and direction automatically
- Subtotals can still be applied based on the primary sort column
- Applying a sort removes any existing subtotals in the worksheet (with a warning shown)
