From version 2024.2 you can create your own customized ribbon this will enable you to have your most frequently used commands in a ribbon tailored for your use, thus speeding up your workflow.
To customize a ribbon
Right-click anywhere on a ribbon and select Customize the Ribbon, this opens the Customize window.
To add a new ribbon - click the New Tab button. This will create a new tab/ribbon with a default new group, in the right-hand pane.
To rename the custom ribbon - Select it and click the Rename button, enter the new name in the dialog box and click OK. A group can be renamed in the same way.
Note: creating groups within the tab/ribbon is a good way of sectioning the ribbon.
To add commands to a tab or group - select the tab or group in the right-hand pane, then choose commands from the left-hand pane and click the Add >> button.
To remove a tab or group - select it in the right pane and click <<Remove.
To Reorder Tabs or Groups - use the up and down arrows on the right-hand side to move tabs or groups to desired position.
Revert - This is used if you are customizing an existing ribbon and you need to revert to original ribbon settings. Select the tab in the right-hand pane and click Reset.
Note: You cannot reset a custom toolbar.
Note: the Customize window can also be accessed via the drop-down arrow at the right-hand end of your quick access toolbar and selecting More Commands then Customize Ribbon.
To customize the quick access toolbar
- At the right-hand end of your quick access toolbar click on the drop-down arrow.
- Select More Commands, this opens the Customize window.
- To add a new command, select it in the left hand Commands pane and click the Add >> button.
- To change the order in which icons/commands appear on the toolbar use the up and down arrows on the right-hand side.
- When you have finished your customizations click OK.
Note: the Customize window can also be accessed via right-clicking anywhere on a ribbon and selecting what you wish to customize.
