Locking Items in Worksheet
In Worksheet you may lock an item so that it is not affected by most commands and cannot be edited. Many toolbar buttons will be grayed out if the current item is locked. A locked line is not optioned by Global Options or updated by an Update against catalog.
How To Lock a Single Item
Click in the Lock column.
How To Lock Multiple Items
- Select a few items in the worksheet.
- Select the Item ribbon tab. Then select the Locks icon, and then choose Lock. This will switch the lock status of either the current item or selected items.
The Toggle Lock button will switch the lock status of either the current item or selected items.
How To Lock by Criteria
If you have a large worksheet, instead of selecting items then locking them, multiple items can be locked by criteria.
- From the Item tab select Locks By Criteria.
- Check the Complete column and set the value to equal Complete.
Symbol Legend for the Lock Column
Item Locked. Item is locked and cannot be edited.
Price Locked. Items with price locks have the price columns locked, but you can still modify the other columns. An example where this occurs may be service parts.
Unplanned Item. This icon may appear in the Item column (not the Lock column) if you create an Associated Worksheet then add items to that Worksheet that are not in the original associated drawing. Items without this symbol may have certain features locked to prevent disruption to the associated drawing. Items that are in linked between the drawing and the worksheet may need to have some elements edited in the drawing to maintain positioning and placement.
