Split an Item
The Split command allows you to separate a single line item with a quantity greater than 1 into two identical line items and updates the quantity of each. Instead of copying and pasting a line and then changing the quantity manually, Split is a more efficient way to accomplish the same task.
- The item you wish to split must be current. To make an item current, click in any cell of the item except the item column. You will see brackets appear around the item number indicating that it is now the current item in your worksheet. Only one line item can be current at any given time.
Example: We will be splitting line item 2 in the image below. You can see line item 2 is current, as it has brackets around the item number.
- From the Item tab, click Split Item
- Set the quantity of the new or existing line. The other quantity will be automatically updated. You can also use the up and down buttons to change quantities.
- Click OK.
- The item will now be split.
