Creating Custom Material
You are able to take any image file and create a user material that you can then apply to your items in Visual Impression. This article focuses on the steps involved in creating the user material..
- From within Visual Impression, click the Visual Materials button in the upper right to launch the Visual Materials application.
- In Visual Materials, left click on the name of a color palette you wish to store the material in and then click the "+" sign button to add a material to that palette.
- The Add User Material dialog window will then appear. Here you will be able to select, modify, and save your custom material as described below.
A - Use the Select Image File... button to browse and open your image file. Valid image file formats are *.PNG, *.JPG, *.BMP, and *.GIF. Use the drop down to select the file format you are using to view image files of that type.
B - Enter a name and description for your material file.
C - Choose the desired attributes for your material in this section by selecting an appropriate Group, Type, Finish, and Coating.
D - Set the width and height for your material size here as well as adjustment for rotation.
E - When all the above is set to your liking, click the Save button to create and save the material to your selected palette.
- Your material should now be saved and accessible in your color palette and ready to be used in Visual Impression.
